Pet Surgery Guide for Owners

Pet Owners Choose VSSOC for a Reason

With many options available in Southern California, we recognize your decision for surgical expertise involves many factors. At Veterinary Surgical Specialists (VSSOC), experience and expertise are combined with extraordinary empathy and compassion when caring for our patients. Expect the best from VSSOC.

Learn more about why pet owners and family veterinarians choose VSSOC.

Not All Pets Need Surgery

At VSSOC, we don’t put animals through unnecessary procedures. We evaluate each patient individually, regardless of why they have been referred. Taking into account all the data points — such as age, activity level, overall health, and living environment — contributes to how we prescribe the best plan of action. For an older dog, mobility issues may be best treated with a pain management protocol for osteoarthritis. A young pup may be too young to be an ideal surgical candidate. But when surgery is indicated, VSSOC is prepared to handle your pet’s unique needs from diagnosis through recovery. And our focus on safety, comfort, and pain management are paramount.

We’ll keep you and your pet’s primary care veterinarian informed every step of the way. It is exactly this team approach that provides for the best outcomes and a smooth continuum of care is just what the doctor ordered. We’ve got it down to a science.
